REVERSE CONFIGURATION

Protecting Temperature Sensitive Products from Extreme Cold

Verne Industrial Coolers are commonly used to protect refrigerated and frozen products from external heat.

But the same high performance thermal insulation can also work in reverse, helping protect temperature sensitive products from extreme winter conditions.

THE SAME INSULATION THAT KEEPS HEAT OUT CAN ALSO HELP KEEP EXTREME COLD OUT.

During severe winter conditions, products that must not freeze can be exposed to extremely low ambient temperatures during transportation.

Instead of actively heating an entire trailer, a Verne Industrial Cooler can create an insulated protective environment around the temperature sensitive products.

ENGINEERED FOR THE APPLICATION

Reverse Configuration performance depends on:

Paints

Coatings

Certain chemicals

Fresh produce

Fruits and vegetables

Other freeze sensitive products

PRODUCTS STARTING AT MODERATE TEMPERATURES

Products that leave a distribution center at moderate temperatures may, depending on route duration and ambient conditions, receive sufficient protection from the thermal insulation of the Industrial Cooler without requiring additional thermal packs.

PRODUCTS CLOSER TO FREEZING TEMPERATURE

Products maintained closer to 32°F may require additional thermal protection during severe winter conditions.

For these applications, Verne Solutions can incorporate an appropriate Hot Pack configuration designed to help maintain the required temperature range for the duration of the route.

FREEZE SENSITIVE PRODUCTS

Reverse Configuration can be considered for products whose characteristics, quality or performance may be affected by freezing.

Potential applications include:

Starting product temperature

Minimum allowable product temperature

Outside ambient temperature

Route duration

Product thermal mass

Number of door openings

Cooler configuration

Use of Hot Packs when required

Every cold weather application is different.

Verne Solutions evaluates the operating conditions and temperature
requirements to determine the appropriate Reverse Configuration.

EXTREME COLD DOESN’T HAVE TO MEAN ACTIVE HEATING.

Let Verne Solutions evaluate your winter distribution requirements and determine the appropriate thermal protection strategy for your products.
